Break Description
Spend your 2025 Fall Break at The Barns at Blue Mountain, a nonprofit in Abingdon, Virginia, that uses equine-assisted programs to promote personal growth, learning, and well-being. Through unique connections with horses, the organization fosters resilience, confidence, and healing for people of all ages and backgrounds.
The Barns at Blue Mountain is built on the belief that time spent with horses can transform lives, encouraging emotional stability, teaching new skills, and strengthening community ties. Their programs combine education, wellness, and outdoor experiences to create a supportive and inspiring environment.
During this break, volunteers will help care for the barns and grounds through painting, cleaning, organizing, and fencing projects. These hands-on tasks ensure that the facilities remain safe and welcoming for the individuals and families who benefit from the nonprofit’s programs.
After a day of meaningful service, nights will be spent at Pleasant View Global Methodist Church, where the group will stay together and share meals, reflection, and downtime. Whether you’re learning more about the therapeutic role of horses, lending your energy to improve the farm, or reflecting on the impact of your service, this fall break promises to be both purposeful and inspiring. Come ready to serve, connect, and grow alongside The Barns at Blue Mountain.
