CAP Resources for Finding a Job or Internship

  • Find Positions page of CAP website: Advice and recommended websites to help with a job/internship search. 
  • Handshake is James Madison University’s online career services management system that provides JMU students access to over 200,000 positions.
  • Vault is a great resource for exploring career fields and job titles that interest you. You can research industries to learn more about a field, or view profiles of different professions to learn what a typical day would be like in the life of a job you're considering.

Academic Credit

If you are pursuing academic credit for your internship, you'll need to pay attention to the location of your internship placement. Due to new legislation, you can only receive academic credit for out-of-state internships in certain states.  New states are being approved periodically, so please check the JMU and State Authorization page for updates. For more information, see the Academic Credit section of our Internship Resources page.
