The JMU Digital Accessibility Technical Advice (DATA) Team provides technical assistance to support JMU’s efforts to comply with federal and state laws related to web and mobile app accessibility. We provide guidance and referrals about remediating specific online course materials and other web content for accessibility.
Unfortunately, we are not staffed to do the actual remediation work.
Who We Are
The team includes representatives from several divisions at JMU, including IT, Libraries, Digital Marketing, and Disability Services who work on accessibility as part of their main jobs. The guidance we provide represents our best efforts to apply the technical standards found in the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1AA to online content at JMU and is not legal advice. We cannot guarantee its accuracy or completeness, but we give it our best effort! We appreciate your efforts on behalf of accessibility at JMU.
