Dukes Career Connections is a three-day pre-Weeks of Welcome experience just for incoming transfer students! It is hosted by the University Career Center with assistance from the Office of Transfer Initiatives. DCC usually runs Wednesday-Friday of the week prior to the start of classes, and it's a great opportunity to meet and make friends with other transfer students, develop your academic plan, get a jump-start on career planning, and connect with local employers and alumni. UNST 110 New Dukes 101 is a 1-credit class offered during the fall semester for students who want to get up to speed quickly on academic success, accessing resources, getting involved, and career planning at JMU. One section is dedicated to transfer students and will focus on building your network at JMU, since you already know how to be successful in college (you proved that at your last college or university!). The class meets twice a week for the first seven weeks of the semester. You can register for UNST 110 in MyMadison. Look for the section taught by Jolie Lewis.
