Duties:

Do you want to have fun at work while also providing a safe and engaging environment for youth? If so, the City of Harrisonburg's Recreation Aide - Youth Services position may be the right job for you! The Recreation Aide in Youth Services is a seasonal position (no benefits) with a preferred hiring rate of $12.76 per hour. The ideal candidate for this position will assist with the implementation of a variety of Youth Services activities and Parks and Recreation department programs, services, and events.

Requirments:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age by date of hire (approximately 3 weeks after application date but no sooner than May 16).
  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Availability to work Monday - Friday between the hours of 7:30am - 5:30pm; however, exact shifts will vary.
  • Available to work from hire date through approximately mid-August.
  • Exemplary customer service abilities.

  • Some experience serving as a recreational aide or group leader preferred but not required.
