Description

Duties:

Caretaker/Companion needed for my teen son who has Down syndrome and Autism. (Current shift opening are primarily on Saturdays and Sundays.) My son is a sweet and fun guy. He's a people-person and enjoys meeting new friends. He also has a funny sense of humor. He loves music, dancing, watching the cars go by while on walks, taking car rides, watching movies, going to the park, the pool and the mall, etc. He communicates primarily with simple signing and gestures.

Duties would include taking him on outings; going for walks to the park or around the neighborhood; playing with him or doing activities; assisting him with meals and self help skills, personal hygiene, etc. Plus the potential for taking him to his Speech/OT therapy sessions (which can provide you shadowing hours if needed for school). The position would begin as soon as you’re available, with the opportunity to extend into the following semester and beyond. We can be flexible depending on your schedule and how it fits with our needs.

$13.88 (plus time and a half for overtime)
