Welcome JMU Class of 2022 Families!

Where do we begin? We're so happy to have you as a part of our JMU Family. The Madison Experience is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that will shape your student's life and future. As JMU welcomes your sons and daughters, the university extends the same warm invitation to you as parents. You, too, are a part of Madison. You, as well as students, the faculty and staff, and alumni....together....enrich your student's total Madison Experience. So welcome to James Madison University. In May 2018, you will receive a Madison Family Handbook in the mail. Keep your Madison Family Handbook handy throughout this journey. This handbook contains valuable information with which you can coach your student as well as the resources and contacts that you may need. You'll also find tips from other parents who've made this journey before.

First things first. The 2018-19 Academic Calendar will help you plan your schedule around your student's breaks and keep you up in the loop. You can also explore more resources for both you and your student here. Get connected with the JMU Parents & Family Facebook page where you can stay in the loop with important information. This page is maintained by the JMU Office of Parent Relations, so be sure to connect with us to get the most up-to-date information.

First-Year Send Offs. Before you embark on the most wonderful experience of your life, come join the excitement as we congratulate and welcome our newest Dukes! Talk with parents, alumni, and JMU staff and meet fellow classmates from your area. More information on First-Year Send Offs may be found here.

Family Weekend. Family Weekend 2018 is October 5-7. Thousands of JMU family members will attend to catch a glimpse of campus life and enjoy numerous activities throughout the weekend. More information on Family Weekend 2018 may be found here.

Enjoy the journey! This is an exciting time for your entire family. If you need any assistance, advice, or are looking for a little support, JMU's Office of Parent Relations is here for you.
