Through exploration and participation in programs and leadership opportunities offered by the Student Life Department, students will:

  • reflect on how their involvement in organizations and sponsored programs enhances their connection to the JMU community and beyond.

  • discuss the impact of establishing community guidelines and expectations to help create safe, values-oriented communities.
  •  
  • develop strategies to increase equitable living, learning and social spaces within their communities.
  •  
  • be able to analyze how their values inform their decision-making process.

  • critically reflect on personal beliefs and consider alternative perspectives.
  •  
  • describe how leadership strengths are applied to work effectively with people organizations across differences.  
  •  
  • identify campus resources and support systems that help them advocate for themselves and peers.
  •  
  • engage in active citizenry that supports personal and collective well-being.  
  •  
  • identify practical changes they can make to support their health, manage stress, and find balance.
