Join us for our first sensory-friendly music event on Friday, March 29th, 1:00-3:00pm in the JMU Festival Conference Center!

This event provides free, sensory-friendly music experiences to neurodiverse people by removing barriers including cost, space, and timing. We hope to create musical experiences that can pave the way for future involvement with music and attendance at performances! Event-goers will receive a music and fidget bag to use during the performance and snacks will be provided!

Step-by-Step Map to Event

Below is a visual step-by-step map from the Ballard Parking Deck to the Festival Conference Rooms 6 & 7. If you are parking in a different lot, you can start the map at photo number 5 to assist you into Festival and into the correct room.

Parking

accessible-parking-map.pngWe suggest parking in either the Ballard Parking Deck or the D3 lot on campus in order to be closest to the Festival Conference Center. The image to the right shows the accessible parking available nearest those lots and the Festival Center. Please read the information below in full to understand parking regulations for this event:

  • To avoid campus gates, please enter campus from Reservoir Street or University Boulevard. The Festival Conference and Student Center ("The Festival") is located just off Carrier Drive. There is a pull-around drive in front of The Festival that can be used for drop-off and pick-up. Parking, including accessible parking (proper permit required), is available in lot D3, which is across Carrier Drive from The Festival.
  • Parking for this event is free; however, JMU Parking Services requires that you submit your vehicle information online so that your vehicle will not be ticketed. To do this, go to https://jmu.aimsparking.com and click on “Redeem Event Permit.” Select your event, 03/29/24 Sensory-Friendly, Inclusive Music Performance, and enter the event voucher code, 24MUSIC. Then, enter your vehicle information.
  • Upon confirming the transaction, you will receive an email receipt. You can submit vehicle information for parking right up to when you park your vehicle for the event. Directions for redeeming parking can be found online at https://www.jmu.edu/parking/event-parking/event_redemptions.pdf.
  • Note that you may not park in specially designated spaces such as Service Vehicle spaces, accessible spaces without proper permits, or expired timed spaces. You are prohibited from parking in Fire Lanes. Free event parking can only be redeemed by campus visitors. This cannot be redeemed by anyone currently enrolled at, compensated by, or employed as an affiliate of James Madison University.
