Develop and Implement Effective AI Governance and Practices
JMU is establishing clear, responsible guidance for how artificial intelligence is used in teaching, learning, research, and university operations. A cross-campus working group is developing shared principles and governance so the university can adopt AI thoughtfully and responsibly.

- A set of guidance documents governing AI use in teaching, learning, research, and internal operations, complete, approved, and posted.
FY27 Action Items
- AI strategy working group will draft shared principles.
- Deploy a secure, university-supported AI platform for campus.
- Continue faculty development programming to support responsible AI use.
