Enhance Research Infrastructure for Growth and Impact
As JMU charts its path as a national research university, it is building the infrastructure faculty and students need to do more high-impact work. This includes a new research faculty contract type, stronger support for research centers, better systems to track and support research activity, and expanded doctoral capacity.

- Develop a research faculty contract type, along with the policies and supports to administer it.
- Identify college strengths that could grow into future research centers.
- Build internal systems to better track research activity and software resources.
- Review and reallocate doctoral assistantships and project research doctoral degree growth.
