Technology Assistant

Hi! My name is Ella Toothman, and I am a senior studying Industrial Design with an Honor's minor. This fellowship opportunity interested me because of X-Labs mission to include more interdisciplinary academic options for students.

My two goals for this year at X-Labs are to gain more professional development experience and learn more about the tools in the lab space. Being apart of the X-Labs fellows team allows me to gain more professional development skills by collaborating and problem solving with others. As the lab assistant fellow, I want to be knowledgable about all the tools and softwares that are available in the lab.

My major, Industrial Design, has allowed me to make my hobbies and academics one! I love designing and creating with my hands, and Industrial Design has allowed me to learn more skills in both the classroom and the workshop. I enjoy sewing, leather working, and woodworking!

This past summer I took a boot making class in Casper, Wyoming and made my own pair of handmade lace up leather work boots!
