Brittney Hayden joined James Madison University in 2021 as the Coordinator for Planned Giving, was promoted to Planned Giving Officer and currently serves as a Development Officer on the Strategic Gifts team. During her time at JMU, she has worked closely with alumni and donors to build meaningful relationships and connect their philanthropic interests with opportunities across the university.

Before coming to JMU, Brittney built her career in Division I collegiate athletics, serving as the Assistant Gymnastics Coach at Michigan State University and Director of Operations for Rutgers Gymnastics. A former Division I gymnast herself, her experience in collegiate athletics gave her a strong foundation in communication, teamwork, and connecting with others.to development and engagement.

Originally from Easton, PA, Brittney now resides in Harrisonburg with her husband, Dorian, who earned his doctorate in Clinical and School Psychology from JMU. She enjoys building connections with the JMU community and helping alumni find meaningful ways to support the university and its students.
