The Faculty Appeals Committee (FAC) is comprised of 16 non-administrative faculty elected from each college, the Libraries, and University Studies. The purpose of the committee is to represent all faculty in the hearing of appeals regarding the following issues: tenure and promotion, contract renewal, and sanctions following a completed complaint or grievance process.
The FAC does not receive initial complaints or grievances, which must be submitted to the appropriate supervisor via the designated forms on the Provost’s webpage. The appeals process is only engaged when discussions at lower levels do not produce a resolution. The scope of duty of the FAC is outlined in Faculty Handbook III.M.
