Graduate Student
Taylor Tompkins was born and raised in Washington, D.C. She attended Duke Ellington School of the Arts, where she discovered her passion for literature and the performing arts. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English with a concentration in Creative Writing while also studying Spanish literature and theater. In 2023, she won the Le Moyne College Newhouse Writing Competition for her original, untitled sitcom pilot script.
Outside of her academic pursuits, Taylor volunteers with local animal rescue organizations and enjoys spending time with her two large-breed dogs, Gram and Sheba. Her interests include reading, filmmaking, music production, and, of course, conversations about existential philosophy. For the past two years, she has taught English to native Spanish speakers and hopes to continue supporting English learners throughout their language-learning journeys.
As a graduate student at James Madison University, Taylor looks forward to embracing new challenges, expanding her understanding of literature, and strengthening her skills in literary criticism and analysis.
