Katie Barnett grew up on the Intracoastal Waterway in Chesapeake, Virginia. She graduated from Old Dominion University in 2025 with a BA in English Literature, and a minor in Philosophy. During her time there, Katie was the president of her school’s chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, the English honors society. Also during her time in undergrad, Katie discovered her passion for Gothic Literature, as well as her love of riveting English Renaissance Dramas. She is extremely excited to explore the mountains of Harrisonburg, and to expand her literary knowledge and passions even further.

Outside of academia, Katie still finds a way to discuss her literary interests by telling her friends about the plot of every book she is reading. She also enjoys going on spontaneous adventures, finding eclectic shops, and hanging out with her cat, Lancelot. Her favorite novel is Dostoevsky's The Brothers Karamazov.
