FEA Fall Lecture Series
Speaker: Shiree Harbick, Ph.D., JMU Communication Sciences & Disorders, Infant & Toddler Language Laboratory Director of the FIRST Program
Dr. Harbick’s clinical research involves “coaching” lowresource high-risk mothers (e.g., those on Medicaid, those with immigrant profiles, and those with histories of addiction and loss of custody) in nurturing their 6- to 12-month-old infants’ language acquisition. She has served more than 40 parents/ caregivers from 8 different languages with supervised graduate and undergraduate students in speech-language pathology and audiology. Dr. Harbick will explain the Facilitating Infant Responsiveness to Stimulate Talking (FIRST) Program, and provide experimental and control group outcomes. DON’T MISS IT!
