The Associate Vice Provost for Curriculum oversees the curriculum development process and the production of the catalog. Our office helps faculty develop and modify new and existing programs and courses.
Our new online curriculum system, CourseLeaf, is now available at this link. Training is required before you may enter proposals. Training sessions will occur throughout the fall. Links to register for sessions will be posted here soon. You may also email curric@jmu.edu to schedule one-on-one sessions.
Proposal Assistance
We strongly encourage you to contact our office for assistance to ensure proposals are entered properly. We are happy to walk you through the steps as you submit a proposal. Please email us at curric@jmu.edu to schedule an appointment.
If your proposal is for a new academic program (degree, major, minor), certificate or concentration, please contact the Associate Vice Provost for Curriculum, Paula Maxwell (maxwelpj@jmu.edu), before you begin.
Curriculum Processes
All proposals go through an established curriculum and instruction (C&I) approval process. Proposals for new majors, degree programs, certificate programs, minors and concentrations require additional steps.
Declaration Deadlines
Faculty are strongly encouraged to maintain open/rolling declaration timeframes for their academic programs. If declaration deadlines are deemed necessary, please fill out the following form and submit it to the Associate Vice Provost for Curriculum (maxwelpj@jmu.edu) by March 30.
