- Safety – Ensure that JMU data, including student, faculty, staff, and your own data are protected. At JMU, this includes using Microsoft Copilot with data protection and avoiding providing sensitive and highly confidential data to consumer AI platforms. See the Standard for Acceptable Use of Artificial Intelligence with University Data to learn more.
- Responsibility – Agents and their specific parameters of use must be approved via TSR and have the appropriate data protections prior to being deployed. Upon approval and deployment, agents are the responsibility of the person or group that deploys the agent. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, protecting university data, testing, and responding to inaccurate information the agent may provide an individual.
- Transparency – Ensure that users are aware that they are interacting with an AI agent.
