Ms. Martin began her education career as a special education teacher for emotional and learning disabilities in K-12 public schools. In addition, she has experience in alternative education, GED night school curriculum, and children’s mental hospital education.  She began supporting outcomes for students with disabilities at the TTAC in 2001. She brings experience in VDOE special education and student services department initiatives and agency collaborations which include project and budget management, resource dissemination, and assessment and evaluation as it relates to the TTAC mission. She partners with school divisions to build capacity to implement inclusive and evidence-based practices with her focus being classroom and behavior management, standards-based IEPs, and specially designed instruction. Ms. Martin currently teaches the Survey in Emotional Disturbance course and has taught courses in the past to include Instructional Strategies for Students in High-Risk Environments, Differentiation and Collaboration in Special Education, High Expectations in Inclusive Practices, and Standards of Learning (SOL) in CTE Classes. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.
