Visit Us

James Madison University started as a teaching school in 1908. Come visit what the College of Education has been improving on for the last 100 years! We are located in Memorial Hall just 2 blocks off the quad. The best way to get to know our program is to meet the faculty, staff and students who make up the community.

Tours last about 30 minutes and are offered by appointment only. When available appointments can be scheduled Monday – Friday, 9am – 3pm. Please use the Tour Request link below to request your tour. Preparing for your visit

  1. Submit a tour request at least a week in advance of your visit. Please select the best date and times that work for you. Our Recruitment Specialist will be in touch to finalize the date and time. 
  2. You'll receive a follow-up email from the COE’s Recruitment Specialist with tour information and you can discuss any questions you have in advance of your visit. If you ever need to reach us, email us at coe@jmu.edu.
  3. On the day of your visit, first stop by Parking Services to register for an electronic Visitor's Pass: you will need to provide your license and vehicle registration This will allow you to park in any commuter or student spot on campus. To visit our building, we recommend you either ride the Inter-Campus Shuttle or park in C8 or R9 lots.

Educational Technology and Media Center - The ETMC is committed to preparing all students in the College of Education to be knowledgeable users of educational technology. The ETMC also strives to be a welcoming space in Memorial Hall for members of the COE community to learn, study, and collaborate. 

Education Support Center - The ESC’s vision is to be an exemplary model for student-centered support services that offer a “one-stop shop” from admissions to teacher education, academic advising, field experience and licensure services.
