Scholarly Interests and Research Topics

Dr. Ogundipe’s ongoing research involves Life Cycle Impact Assessment Studies, Industrial Ecology, Environmental Compatibility in Product and Process design, Emerging Pollutants and the development of areas of synergistic activities between engineering and non engineering disciplines and specializations with the goal of an interdisciplinary holistic approach to sustainable problem solving.

Experience

Dr. Ogundipe joined JMU in August 2010 from a position as Research Fellow with the Center for Environmental Systems at Stevens Institute of Technology. He was also concurrently a faculty member in the Civil, Environmental and Ocean Engineering department at Stevens. His previous research works have involved assessing the environmental viability of newly developed and proposed U.S. Military munitions and the environmental impact of the use of such, as a basis for sustainable best practices. In addition, he has worked on the design of remediation systems as well as the development of analytical techniques to identify and evaluate contamination
