Minor: Integrated Science and Technology

Why did you become an ambassador? I know what it feels like to enter a new environment and be anxious about what the future holds. I became an IT Ambassador to provide a safe space for students who share that feeling I once had, and to inspire, encourage, and support them throughout their journey here at JMU.

Why did you choose IT? In high school, I was part of the IT program, which gave me the opportunity to take dual-enrollment classes related to my current major; that early exposure helped me realize IT was a field where I could grow, solve meaningful problems, and build a career that excites me.

What do you enjoy most IT? I enjoy how the IT program helps you reach your fullest potential through opportunities, resources, and new knowledge across many topics.

Have you had an internship, study abroad, or research experience? This past summer I had the opportunity to work with the National Society of Black Engineers in which I was able to facilitate and lead topics in STEM such as AI, robotics, engineering, energy, and more.

What clubs, student organizations, or activities are you involved in? JMU's National Society of Black Engineers, African Student Organization, and Bible and Prayer Fellowship. If you are interested or have questions about any of them, please reach out to me!

What is something you love to do outside of class? I love hanging out and catching up with friends over food or activities.

What is your favorite spot on campus? The UREC hot tub!

Describe your JMU experience in three words, what would they be? Beyond my expectations.

What advice would you give to a prospective student? College is not a journey of trying to be “the best”, rather, it is a journey of discovery, overcoming challenges, and understanding yourself. As long as you keep going, you will be just fine.
