Class of 2026

Sydney chose to become an EA because it's a great opportunity to be more involved in JMU Engineering. "EA's do a lot of outreach to get more youth interested in engineering, which I think is very important," she says. Sydney chose JMU Engineering because its uniqueness - learning various types of engineering without sticking to one specific discipline. She is also involved in the Society of Women Engineers and CISE Mentor Collective. In her free time she enjoys spending time with friends, going to the gym, cooking, and watching TV.

How is JMU Engineering preparing you for your future?

"In the JMU Engineering program, you learn how to work with others on projects, communicate within a group, think critically, and time management skills."

Advice for prospective students:

"Engineering may seem very intimidating - even scary at first. But everyone has felt the same way at some point. Don't be afraid to ask for help or use all the resources that JMU provides for you."
