| Safe Zone is a completely voluntary network of faculty, staff and students who believe in the ideals that every member of the university community should have an equal opportunity to grow and learn in a safe and open environment. |
Safe Zone JMU is a program through which faculty, staff, and students at the university are educated and informed about educational and other issues affecting lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (lgbt) individuals. It furthermore provides a support network for lgbt students, faculty, and staff.
