Ultimate Frisbee - Men's

Info:

Men's Ultimate

Our goal is to bring the sport of Ultimate to James Madison University, both competitively and developmentally. This organization gives students the opportunity to engage in a rapidly growing sport, affirm physical fitness, and participate in a unique and fun team environment. We have a rich history of excellence on and off the field. High level competition, skill development, and physical fitness are all major aspects of the program we have been building. New members are always welcome, so if you've ever wondered what it's like to play on a real Ultimate team, here's your chance. We only ask that you come ready to work hard and have a good time. We usually have an average of about 50 members.

We play in the Virginia Conference of the Atlantic Coast Region, along with North Carolina, South Carolina, Washington D.C., Maryland, and Delaware. Our season occurs in the Spring semester with as many as 5 to 6 weekend tournaments. We practice all fall semester and go to 2-3 warm up tournaments to get ready for the spring.

Tryouts for the A-team are early fall semester. Anyone who doesn't make the A-team is welcome to play on the B-team, which participates in their own tournaments and focuses more on skill development. Team dues vary every semester, usually ranging from $50 - $100 per semester. We use this money to cover tournament fees, travel costs, and training programs. Our A-team is consistently one of the best teams in Virginia, and our goal of making the national tournament is in sight. Our B-team is well known for teaching students sound fundamentals and is always open to new players.

We hold regular practices 4 times a week, all year long. If you are interesting in coming out, email one of our executive officers and they will be happy to speak with you.
