Software

Information Technology and other areas of the university work together to provide software at no cost to the JMU community. In addition, we negotiate volume discounts and site licenses to reduce the cost of software that must be purchased.

Additional information is available for students and faculty/staff.

  • Software Downloads

    Software at this site is available to all members of the JMU Community. You will need to enter your Electronic ID (eID) and password to download software.
  • JMU Recommended Software

    JMU recommends using software that is supported by Information Technology as well as the respective software manufacturers. Computing Support updates the list of campus recommended software on an academic calendar year basis.

  • SAS

    SAS software is a comprehensive tool for analyzing data that facilitates statistical analysis, data management, forecasting, decision support, research, and other academic and business functions.
  • Mathematica

    Mathematica software is a comprehensive system for mathematical computation, modeling, simulation, visualization, and development.

 

Faculty/Staff

  • SAS

    SAS software is a comprehensive tool for analyzing data that facilitates statistical analysis, data management, forecasting, decision support, research, and other academic and business functions.
  • SPSS

    SPSS software is a comprehensive system for analyzing data. It can take data from almost any type of file and generate tabulated reports, plot distributions and trends, create charts and graphs, and perform descriptive and complex statistical analyses.
  • Microsoft Office for Personal Use

    JMU's Campus Agreement with Microsoft Corporation permits faculty and staff to install Microsoft Office on a personally-owned computer.
  • Mathematica

    Mathematica software is a comprehensive system for mathematical computation, modeling, simulation, visualization, and development.
  • Microsoft Select Prices for Departmental Use

    The Microsoft Select License provides Microsoft software at academic pricing for departmental purchases. Contact Kay Wright (wrightkd@jmu.edu) for additional information and quotes.
  • Adobe CLP Prices for Departmental Use

    The Adobe Cumulative Licensing Program (CLP) provides Adobe software at academic pricing for departmental purchases. Contact Kay Wright (wrightkd@jmu.edu) for additional information and quotes.
