The next meeting of the Labs & Classrooms Technology Group (LCTAG) will be held on February 29, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. in Carrier 301. This meeting is open to all faculty and staff that reserve, teach, or support teaching in labs and technology classrooms. Refreshments will be served.
February 4, 2008 Wireless in Residence HallsWireless has been completed in Huffman basement study lounge. January 25, 2008 Wireless in Residence HallsStudents returned to JMU in January to find internet access in designated Residence Hall lounges. Wireless access was installed in Converse basement TV lounge, Gifford basement TV lounge, Wayland basement study lounge, Hillside TV lounge, Eagle basement study lounge, Logan basement study lounge, Chesapeake Pavilion room and Potomac Pavilion room. Huffman is also in the final stages of completion. Residence Life, Information Technology and Telecommunications are working together to provide access points in the remaining Residence Hall locations by the end of the semester. October 31, 2007 Mac OS x Leopard Support StatementPlanning for support of Mac OSX Leopard is under way. JMU Information Technology continues to test and evaluate these programs for compatibility with the university's central applications and systems. Pending this extensive testing, we expect to begin providing support for OSX Leopard effective March 1, 2008. Pending the outcome of further evaluation, support for Boot Camp dual-boot functionality is not expected to be offered March 1.
