The mission of the Center for Entrepreneurship is to promote, foster, and perpetuate the American entrepreneurial tradition, and to strengthen Virginia's economy by encouraging innovation and the creation of new enterprises.

Founded in July 1985 as an interdisciplinary unit of the College of Business of James Madison University, the Center for Entrepreneurship (CFE) is the focus and originating point of a broad variety of business-related activities with special emphasis on venture creation and entrepreneurship.
