Meet Courtney, SACM’s Marketing Coordinator. 

Courtney has a BS in Communication, Technology and Culture, and a Master of Arts in Digital Media Strategy, both from Bridgewater College. However, she became an honorary Duke when she started working for SACM in 2021. Her day-to-day work varies, but she often works with project requests, uses Cascade and works with students. She loves that she now gets to have the “big school experience” at JMU, too! 

Courtney has made her mark at JMU by consulting on and working with improving accessibility. She is passionate about helping others learn, too. She, herself, hopes to improve her interpersonal skills and ability to advocate for herself, and she wants other departments to know that she offers professional development workshops in Cascade and social media. 

Courtney’s hobbies include watching Formula One, crocheting, and playing video games. Of her office decorations, she’s most proud of her Pride flag, which she says has started many meaningful conversations. She also loves her plants and her snack cart, which she keeps outside her office for students and staff to take snacks from.  

The SACM student staff describe Courtney as: enthusiastic, organized and “the snack master.”
