What is Dukes News?

Dukes News (formerly Dukes Weekly) is an email that goes out every Monday and Thursday at 1 p.m. during the school year to all JMU students. Consolidating bulk emails sent to “All Students” from JMU departments and student organizations, Dukes News contains information about the upcoming week’s events, important announcements and deadlines, job/volunteer opportunities, etc., while reducing the number of emails that students receive.

Dukes Weekly has been a reliable provider of information to JMU students since fall of 2019, and beginning with spring semester 2026, the majority of bulk email requests will be fulfilled through inclusion in Dukes News. There will be limited exceptions for mission-critical messages.

Content submissions are due one week prior to the send date. All submissions must be from a recognized JMU club, organization or department, and a link for more information is required for each submission.

If you have any questions or comments, please email dukesnews@jmu.edu.
