Gilkerson Community Activities Center? If so, the City of Harrisonburg's Parks and Recreation Department's Customer Service Specialist position may be the right career for you!

The Parks and Recreation Department's Customer Service Specialist position is a year-round part-time position (no benefits) and a hiring rate of $12.15 per hour. A variety of shifts may be available throughout the week and on weekends during operating hours. The position requires availability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings/nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements: 

  • High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required. 
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings/nights, weekends, and holidays is required.
  • The physical requirements for this position are listed on the City's website.
  • Exemplary customer service abilities are required.
  • Previous cashier experience is preferred but not required.
