Speak Up Dukes Feature

James Madison University seeks to be an environment characterized by openness, fairness and equal access for all students, staff and faculty. We strive to facilitate a welcoming and inclusive campus climate that is grounded in mutual respect, nurtured by dialogue and evidenced by a pattern of civil interaction.

This fall, JMU is undertaking a vital and relevant climate assessment. This is an opportunity to make positive, lasting changes and to help create a more inclusive campus. To ensure full transparency and provide a complete perspective, we have contracted with Rankin & Associates Consulting, who have conducted more than 200 campus climate assessment projects over the last 20 years, to help lead this effort.

A committee of students, staff and faculty worked with the consultants to develop a survey customized for JMU, and your responses will enable us to develop programs and policies to increase inclusivity and enhance and replicate promising programs and policies that are shown to be successfully meeting the needs of the community.

We need everyone to participate so that results of the study reliably represent our community. Please take the survey and support this important project!

The survey is open until Oct. 29 for current students, staff and faculty.
