The Tree of Life: Huirong Han's Paper-cut Art
November 27 - December 30, 2023

The four seasons flow, the cycle of life, life is born only after death, representing the growth and reincarnation of all creatures;

The tree of life is about the evolution of life, branches from the roots to stems, branches, leaves, flowers, and fruits. Its branches are diverse, including the life, soul, and consciousness. Its evolutionary process reflects the correlation of matter and thought between living things, and is a perfect representation of the equality of all creatures...The "Tree of Life" begins with attention to life.

This exhibition is a series of paper-cut works "Tree of Life" created by Huirong Han in 2023. During her visit to the School of Art, Design and Art History at James Madison University in the United States, Huirong Han inspected American folk art and believed that the theme of "Tree of Life" has attracted much attention in world civilization regardless of region. She uses paper-cutting as an artistic language and combines it with the theme of "Tree of Life" to create contemporary art. The Tree of Life’s thinking on the philosophical viewpoint of “all living creatures come from the same origin and harmonious coexistence” is materialized and transformed into a form that is easily accepted by the contemporary public, evoking warmth in people’s memories.
