SACSCOC Accreditation

Welcome
Welcome to James Madison University’s website for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).
JMU was first awarded this institutional report card in 1927 by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Every ten years, JMU’s accreditation must be reaffirmed, with the most recent reaffirmation in December 2013. Between each reaffirmation cycle, institutions submit a Fifth-Year Interim Report, which JMU submitted in Spring 2019 along with an impact report on the implementation of the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) - Ethical Reasoning in Action.

JMU's next reaffirmation cycle will be during the 2021-2023 academic years. JMU was selected to participate in an abbreviated, differentiated review for the decennial reaffirmation of accreditation process. Along with the compliance certification, the university will submit a Quality Enhancement Plan.
