BeInvolved is changing! 

Be Involved is transitioning to a new platform in January with access to the current platform ending in May of 2022.

New Be Involved is now accessible to the JMU Community by logging in with your JMU Credentials! Here are some tutorials to get you started on your New Be Involved journey — more will be featured throughout the semester!

Old Be Involved is still accessible for retrieving of information from organizations pages (directions below).

Tutorials

  • Go to beinvolved.jmu.edu
  • Log in with JMU Credentials and DUO
  • Top Right: Click the 9-dot box
  • Click Manage
  • Under “My Memberships” select the organization you are collecting downloads for
  • Top Left: Click the 3 lines to view the Organization Tools

Contact BeInvolved@jmu.edu if you are not shown as having access to download/save information but are a current executive member of your organization. 

This information will allow you download information of current members listed on your members.

  • Select Roster from Organization Tools
  • Blue Button on the Right: Export Roster
  • When export is complete, you will receive an email. Click “View Downloads” from email
  • Click Download button from “My Downloads” page
  • A .csv file will download to your device that will include
    • First Name
    • Last Name
    • Campus email
    • Position
    • NOTE: Member holding multiple positions (such as general member and president) will be listed for each position; beware of duplicates!

This information will instruct you how to save the current information listed on your organization homepage.

  • Select About from Organization Tools
  • Copy and paste relevant information into document as necessary
    • This is only if you want to keep your current information; feel free to update/edit for the new platform at will!

This information instructs you how to save participant information from events hosted by your organization.

  • Click Events from Organization Tools
  • Click “View RSVPs and Invitations” the event for which you want to download information
  • Blue Button on the Right: Export Roster
  • When export is complete, you will receive an email. Click “View Downloads” from email
  • Click Download button from “My Downloads” page
  • A .csv file will download to your device that will include
    • First Name
    • Last Name
    • Campus Email
    • Invitation Status
    • Accepted Invitation Date/Time
    • RSVP Status
    • Attended the Event

This information instructs you how to save information from news articles posted by your organization.

  • Click News from the Organization Tools
  • Select the Article for which you want to save information
  • Blue button on the right: Edit Article
  • Copy and Paste desired information onto a document on your device

This information instructs you have to save pictures from your organization page

  • Click Photos from the Organization Tools
  • Select the Album
  • On the left, select Edit Album
  • For the pictures you would like to save, click the 3 dots and select Edit
  • Right click and select Save Picture As for your local device

This information instructs you how to download documents from your organization page

Note: Organizations will be required to submit a constitution to the new platform during Annual Registration. If organizations do not have a copy of their constitution available elsewhere, they will need to download their most recent one from BeInvolved

  • Click Documents from the Organizations Tools
  • Select the file that you want to save
    • Unfortunately, entire folders cannot be downloaded as one. Documents must be downloaded individually
  • Click the Blue Download button on the document
  • Save as appropriate on device

This information instructs you how to download information submitted to an organization form.

  • Select Forms from Organization Tools
  • On the right side of the intended form, click the 3 dots
  • Select Export as Excel or PDF
    • Excel will be easier to utilize information entered into form, such as emails
  • Document will download (as either .csv file or .pdf) with information requested from the form

This information is for saving the results for elections hosted by your organization.

  • Select Elections from Organization Tools
  • Select desired election
  • Select results
  • Select Blue Button: Export All Votes
  • When export is complete, you will receive an email. Click “View Downloads” from email
  • Click Download button from “My Downloads” page
  • A .csv file will download to your device that will include
    • Each ballot vote submitted

This information is for saving the submissions of Service Hours by members of the organization.

  • Service Hours are not able to be downloaded by individual organizations. Contact BeInvolved@jmu.edu for a report listing your organization’s service hours.
