JMU wins Richard Guarasci Award

News

JMU recently won a notable award from Campus Compact, a national coalition of colleges and universities committed to the public purposes of higher education. JMU won the Richard Guarasci Award for Institutional Transformation for outstanding commitment and ethical leadership to advance higher education community engagement. In its announcement, Campus Compact cited JMU’s commitment “to use the full capacity of the institution to challenge social and economic inequalities that threaten our democratic future.” This award is a significant recognition of our vision and strategic plan being fulfilled, and my thanks go out to everyone who advances civic engagement at JMU. Congratulations are also in order to the co-recipient of this year’s Richard Guarasci Award, Dominican University of California.
