Fall 2025 auditions for the JMU Brass Band will take place in person on:
- Tuesday, August 19 (7:00-9:00pm) — Cornets
- Wednesday, August 20 (10:00am-4:00pm) — All other instruments
- Audition excerpts can be found here.
- Please pre-register your interest to audition on the band's website at www.jmubrassband.org.
- While not a requirement for the audition, you are strongly encouraged to audition on brass band specific instruments (soprano cornet, cornet, flugelhorn, tenor horn, baritone).
- Each audition will consist of 2 excerpts. You are expected to prepare each excerpt in its entirety. There will also be a sight reading portion of the audition.
- Audition selections should be prepared as a close to indicated tempi as possible (where indicated).
