Dr. Adam Vanhove and Ph.D. student Brian Smallwood presented two sessions on technical director burnout alongside their colleague, Jamie Bray, at the United States Institute for Theatre Technology Conference in Baltimore, MD. Their sessions outlined what burnout actually is, how it impacts technical directors in the workplace, and what one should do if they're experiencing burnout.

Faculty, Student, & Alumni Collaborations
The Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) team, led by Dr. Paul Mabrey ('17) and Danielle Maxham with support from Tatjana Titareva and discussion by Dr. Ben Selznick, presented at the Center for Faculty Innovation May Symposium. After introducing the project, the group explored the early findings of the QEP working group in researching and designing an early success system and roles that faculty might plan in supporting a culture of equitable student success and retention at JMU.
