Scholarly Interests/Research Topics

Professor Marrin studies intelligence analysis and efforts to improve it, including the development of appropriate criteria for evaluating analytic quality, the policies and practices associated with the management of analysts and the analytic process, and the relationship between intelligence analysts and decision-makers.

Recent projects include an effort to understand and improve intelligence analysis by learning from other disciplines such as the social sciences, history, anthropology, and journalism.
