Division of Access and Enrollment

The Division of Access and Enrollment at James Madison University is dedicated to advancing the university’s mission by recruiting, enrolling and supporting an academically talented and broadly diverse student body. Guided by JMU’s core values of community, diversity and integrity, we create a student-centered experience that begins with a prospective student’s first interaction and continues through graduation.

Through data-informed strategies, a welcoming and inclusive campus environment, and strong collaborative partnerships, we champion opportunities for all students to succeed. By removing barriers and fostering a culture of belonging, the Division of Access and Enrollment plays a critical role in shaping a diverse and vibrant university community.

JMU’s Office of Equal Opportunity and the Title IX Office fall within the unit of Access, Compliance and Engagement (ACE), under Access and Enrollment. These offices administer and promote equal opportunity and compliance to applicable federal and state laws for the entire JMU community.

Centennial Scholars

Financing the cost of higher education is a major barrier that has kept qualified and deserving students from low socioeconomic backgrounds from attending college. The Centennial Scholars Program is rooted in JMU's commitment to serving the citizens of the Commonwealth of Virginia in a fair and equitable manner.
