When it comes to dining options, JMU promises quality, variety, and affordability. JMU Dining Services provides options above and beyond the typical school cafeteria including buffet or a la carte selections that range from home-style entrees to international and vegetarian/vegan meals.

Since most conferences occur during summer break when many of our dining facilities are closed, it is important to make arrangements for your conference in advance. Your Conference Assistant will work with you to determine the best dining options for your group. A popular choice for large groups is the East Campus Dining Facility (E-Hall), a 700-seat all-you-care-to-eat facility with a wide range of options to suit diverse tastes. E-Hall does require a minimum of 200 people for conference service rates. We also offer a variety of options for catered events: buffets, plated meals, receptions, boxed lunches, and party platters. If you prefer a catered event or banquet, JMU’s Special Events and Catering team will provide the service, and the cost will be billed through Conference Services.

All overnight groups are required to eat their meals on campus.

If you prefer to eat off-campus, there are dozens of great restaurants within 15 minutes of campus, including many unique locally-owned options. For more information, please see our Area Information page.
