Dr. Christina Lord

Christina Lord joined UNCW as Assistant Professor of French in fall 2019. She’s lived, worked, and studied abroad in Québec and France. She has been a French educator since 2010, teaching introductory- and intermediate-level language courses as well as literature, culture, and intensive grammar courses for French majors and minors. 

Dr. Lord is an interdisciplinary scholar of science fiction studies and contemporary French and Francophone studies. Her research mainly focuses on representations of humans and nonhumans in French-language literature and visual media, and she is particularly fascinated by intercultural points of contact between France and the USA. Her other areas of interest include American speculative fictions, Anthropocene studies, ecocriticism, history of science, and intellectual history.
