Registration closes June 1, 2025. Spaces are limited and individual academies will close as soon as they are filled which can occur before the June 1 deadline. Register now to secure your space!
CTA Registration Process
Please use the following link to complete your registration for 2025 CTA:
Administrators, teachers, and paraprofessionals employed in a public school in Virginia are eligible to attend the CTA. You will be requested to provide a valid school email address on the registration form.
ATTENDANCE POLICY:
To be eligible for a stipend, participants must be present for the entirety of the academy. This includes both the morning and afternoon sessions (when offered). Attendance will be recorded in the morning and after lunch.
CANCELLATION POLICY:
To assist JMU in their mission to reduce food waste, improve recycling, and operate efficiently, we respectfully request that you provide CTA advance notice if you must cancel your registration. Please email CTA by June 2, 2025, to give notice of your cancellation. Should an emergency arise that prevents your attendance, please communicate this situation asap via email to CTA@jmu.edu.

Yes, you can register for an additional academy ONLY if the academies do not overlap on any of the days they are held.
No. Registrations must be completed during the live registration period. We are not able to accommodate walk-ins or late registrations due to required conference deadlines and planning.
Each academy provides the opportunity for participants to receive a stipend payment for attending and actively engaging during the entirety of all morning and afternoon professional learning sessions within each academy. Attendance is actively monitored. Eligible participants will receive an email before the CTA to complete any required paperwork including the COVA W-9 form, and optional Zelle Deposit form. Participants can anticipate receiving the stipend(s) by the end of October.
There is no cost to register and attend the CTA.
Yes, residence hall lodging is available on JMU’s campus. While registering for CTA, if you elect to stay on campus, you will be given three options for on campus lodging:
- A double occupancy room shared with another CTA participant with whom you have agreed to share a room
- A double occupancy dorm room with a same gender CTA participant who is randomly assigned to share a room with you.
- A single dorm room for which you agree to pay a fee of $16.00 a day to reserve a room for you alone.
If you choose one of those three options during registration you will receive an email from CTA@jmu.edu with an On Campus Residence Hall Room Request Form to complete. If you wish to choose your roommate, you will be given the opportunity to name an individual who must be actively attending a CTA academy during the same days you are requesting a room. Both roommates should fill out the On Campus Residence Hall Room Request Form they receive and name each other as their chosen roommate.
NOTE: You are only permitted to stay in a residence hall during the days for which you are registered for an academy.
IMPORTANT: If you register to be housed in a JMU dorm room, you must check-in during the check-in times listed in the CTA Participant Packet you will receive via email.
Yes. One person from your division or school building may register multiple people. The person who registers the participants will be the one receiving all communication from CTA. The contact person will need to forward every registered participant their CTA event information. To make registration easier, the person creating the registration(s) should have all necessary information for all parties on hand. For example, your name, contact information and will overnight, double room occupancy in a JMU dorm room be selected and if so, who is the roommate and what is their contact information? In order to add additional participant registrations, select "add a new registrant" and complete the new registration information. It is important for the person who created the registration(s) to forward confirmation email(s) to the each registered participant(s).
Yes, if during registration you find that the academy you wish to attend is full, please email CTA@jmu.edu with the subject heading “[Insert Academy Abbreviation] Wait List.” You will receive a confirmation email when we receive your request. If spaces become available, you will be sent an email.
