Research Interests
Professor Sinacore's research focuses on three overarching questions:
1. How do biophysical, climate, and species interactions influence tree growth and survival under different restoration strategies?
2. To what extent can restoration enhance ecosystem services, such as carbon storage and water regulation, in ways that benefit both people and biodiversity?
3. How do financial incentives and cost-sharing programs shape land-use decisions, and what makes them effective in different socio-ecological contexts?
Research Projects
- Enrichment planting: Planting native species with the Ngäbe-Buglé people of Panama
- Water Guardians: Student and teacher-led exploration of land-use change on stream health
