As a new student in the JMU College of Integrated Science and Engineering (CISE) Geography Program, you probably have a lot of questions about academics and campus life. What if you were paired with a fellow geography student or alum who is ready to answer your questions, share their advice, help navigate you through your challenges, and inspire you to succeed?
Introducing the CISE Mentor Collective – an exciting new peer-to-peer mentoring program that will prepare you for success in our Geography Program.
So, how does it work?
For Mentees
Based on your interests, background, academics, and professional aspirations, you’ll be matched with a CISE student mentor or alum who can answer your questions about academics, student organizations, and our campus community. Remember, our mentors began as new students too, and they're eager to share their experiences and welcome you to JMU!
To get started, register and tell us a little about yourself. We’ll match you with a student or alum that best fits your unique profile.
Your personal mentor will connect with you via text, phone, email, virtually, or in person!
Become a Mentor
Are you interested in giving back to your community? Sharing your valuable knowledge and experience? Helping students embark on their new journey at JMU? Improve your coaching, communication, and leadership skills by becoming a CISE student mentor!
As a mentor, you’ll serve as a trusted confidante, providing guidance and support to incoming CISE students – ensuring they have the tools and support they need to succeed.
