Class of 2024
Emma chose JMU Engineering because of its creative and exploratory environment. "We have the ability to expand our knowledge in the different disciplines with hands-on experiences every year. I knew this program would help me align my interests within a specific type of engineering."
She became an EA to share her experience with prospective and first-year students. "Picking your major isn’t always the easiest decision and I definitely had my doubts going into freshman year. Sticking with the program has been the best decision I’ve made because I truly feel that JMU Engineering is special and has something to offer for everyone."
Emma also belongs to Phi Mu. In her free time she likes to read, paint, work-out, spend time with friends, and do home improvement projects at her parents house.
How is JMU Engineering preparing you for your future?
"Every single year we have had numerous hands-on experiences working with fellow classmates, as well as other universities and businesses. This dynamic has prepared us for a real work environment where you have to collaborate and work with different personalities with the same end goal in mind."
Advice for prospective students:
"College can be daunting but my one piece of advice is to get involved as soon as possible - it will make a huge difference in your college experience!"
