Experience

Striebig is a founding Professor of the Engineering program at James Madison University and has over thirty years of engineering experience.

From 1995 to the present, he has been responsible for over 7.4 million dollars in funding to research efforts in which he was a collaborator or Principal Investigator.

Striebig was co-founder and co-director of the Water for Africa, Technology, Education and Reciprocity (WATER) program. Through collaborations with the Songhai Center, Centre Africa Obota, Gonzaga University, and James Madison University, people in Benin have improved access to clean water through implementation of a water filter manufacturing center and health clinic introduced through this program.

He has worked with leaders of sustainable development in Benin, Rwanda, Kenya, and India. Currently,  Striebig is working locally on various river restoration projects with Trout Unlimited and globally with the Nasaruni Academy for Maasai Girls to develop the infrastructure for a new high school.

Prior to building the engineering program at JMU, Striebig was an Associate Professor of Civil Engineering at Gonzaga University, and the Head of the Environmental Technology Group at the Applied Research Laboratory at the Pennsylvania State University.
