The Computer Science Diversity Support Fund

The Computer Science Diversity Support Fund focuses on breaking down barriers for underrepresented groups studying Computer Science. This fund supports activities in the Computer Science department that bolster diversity for both faculty and students whose talents and perspectives enrich the James Madison University community.

Computer Science Department

Computer Science Department Foundation funds are used to directly help students by defraying the cost of materials needed by students who conduct these projects and the expenses incurred by students who present this work at regional or national professional conferences. Funds are also used to support faculty requests and general department needs.

Computer Science Scholarship

This endowment account provides for general scholarship funds to be awarded to outstanding students majoring in Computer Science.

Malcolm G. Lane Scholarship

The Malcolm G. Lane Scholarship honors the contributions of former department head Malcolm Lane by recognizing outstanding junior or senior CS majors. This scholarship provides financial resources annually to one or more junior or senior level students. To be eligible, a student must have a declared major in Computer Science and have a GPA of 3.25.

  • Promote your company by scheduling a “tech talk” with one of our student organizations.  Focus on “what we do and how we do it” not “what it's like to work here.”

  • Engage with our students by offering real-world, hands-on research opportunities.
