I work to create opportunities for employers to connect with our amazing JMU students and alumni. I enjoy identifying potential relationships and common interests, and sharing stories – the stories of employers and the stories of our students. In this work I’m passionate about making sure all of our students receive access to fulfilling career paths.

My Career Journey

My career journey has been varied and circuituous. I have done a number of jobs through the years including waiting tables, data entry, teaching ESL, and working in recreational sports at the University of Texas at Austin. I received my undergraduate degree from Oregon State University. I came to JMU to pursue my master's in College Student Personnel Administration.

At JMU I've been fortunate to work with the Counseling Center, the Center for Global Engagement, the Center for Faculty Innovation, and now the University Career Center. I love helping students discern their career path and chart a future that excites them. I hope to always be working to help individuals of all backgrounds craft a life that they find satisfying, and I think career services can be a crucial piece in a more socially just society.
